The Trust (ACCT for short) was set up in 2003. ACCT’s aims are:
• To address conservation issues associated with the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UK BAP) in relation to freshwater ecosystems
• To promote research on wetland beetles (Coleoptera), including Species Action Plans or work within Habitat Action Plans and Group Plans under the UK BAP
• To raise the profile of water beetles by using the results of research on UK-BAP and other threatened species to refine conservation management advice
• To support the National Biodiversity Network (NBN) Gateway and similar UK-wide initiatives by providing data and interpretation of data
• ACCT is registered as a charity (SCO37556) and a company (310510)
